I read the first volume in a series called Lynx. This is a post-apocalyptic noir following the titular Lynx, a lesbian detective with a talking sidekick cat. People in this world have “quals”, which from the best I am able to comprehend are power implanted into their brains.

Some freaky shit is happening and Lynx is investigating and struggling to deal with her adopted kid in the wake of her wife’s mysterious death. It’s the first book so obviously it’s hard to really have a big say in what’s going on, but overall the setting and initial plot is intriguing. I will say that the art is fine in stationary moments but it was hard to follow during the horror and action sequences. I’ll probably check out the rest of the volumes if my library gets them.
