This is one of those books that I’ve been trying to read for a long time. The prose is very academic and dry but there’s a wit and humor that really shines. I started it maybe 7 or 8 years ago but my attention span couldn’t grab hold (the plethora of footnotes didn’t help), so late last year I tried the audiobook. The narration by Richard Armitage was superb and really helped me connect with the story more than I thought I could. 8.5/10
