A refreshingly fast paced engaging read. My concern was that it would be too old of a book to be intriguing or relevant for me. But I would have been wrong.
Not only was it a pretty spicy affair, but Shiela’s (our protagonist) inner struggle was real and poignant. The author also switched a more common narrative of a wife walking out on her family from the standard male offense. Also interestingly, we are both in love with and hate what our protagonist is doing. She makes a commitment to a man who is rather boring, and then breaks it, for really good reason besides the fact that she doesn’t love him and her life is fairly boring. I find that to be pretty unbelievable, especially when you consider that she has a 15year old son in the mix.
But overall. A very good quick read
