I opted to read the graphic novel version of this classic. I had never read it before and didn’t think I was ever going to get around to it so the updated format was a welcome chance. I did not realize was written in 1932…for some reason 1984 seemed more likely… I have been trying…


I opted to read the graphic novel version of this classic. I had never read it before and didn’t think I was ever going to get around to it so the updated format was a welcome chance. I did not realize was written in 1932…for some reason 1984 seemed more likely…

I have been trying to describe the similarities I feel between religious prophets and these modern day prophets of doom (Huxley, Orwell, Bradbury etc). I think it boils down to the fact that they’re both big bummers, griping about their fellow humans falling into hell. And that can be exasperating. Grow up sad boys.

Maybe I am just looking for a hot take on a very picked over story though. Good book overall. Learning it was written at the height of America’s foray into eugenics gave it some really excellent context.
